Audio interviews with…

They speak about Canadian asbestos exports, victims of asbestos exposure, a history of asbestos around Sarnia-Lambton’s Chemical Valley, and other related topics.

(Note: I would have spoken with other speakers from the rally if it wasn’t so windy afterwards.)

One response to “Canadian asbestos: Rallying for the victims

  1. It was an important rally. It seems that this is the closest there has ever been to a march about Chemical Valley impacts. But it also was very much about Canada’s asbestos exports, and it was good to see people taking a stand about those crimes. I think there would be some people around the area who have lost loved ones to asbestos who also would feel a sense of justice if protections were put in place so that people elsewhere in the world (e.g. India) wouldn’t be exposed to even more asbestos from Canada.

It partly was a rally to pin blame on the Conservative party. There also was a banner from SHAME about the Liberals.

The sisters who organized this rally don’t live in Sarnia, so it looks like they won’t be able to take on any follow-ups there, themselves.
